REGISTRATION for youngARTS 2010

 

Registration is available online and is very simple. You just provide some contact information, school information, choose your categories and pay your fee(s). Registration opens April 1 at a fee of $35 and will close October 1, 2009, 5:00 pm EST. A major advantage of early registration is that your name is immediately shared with colleges and universities offering scholarships. 1. Verify you are eligible.

2. Review fee structure and policies.

3. Familiarize yourself with the requirements for your specific discipline prior to registering.

4. Register and pay your non-refundable $35 fee by October 1, 2009, 5:00 pm EST. The first 100 students to apply will receive a FREE DVD of the Oscar-nominated documentary, Rehearsing a Dream.

5. We must receive your audition/portfolio materials according to the official mailing requirements no later than October 30, 2009, 5:00 pm EST. "For Visual Arts (digital) and Photography (digital), you can upload your images by logging into your account. https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=NFAA-YAP with your User Name and Password."

The National Association of Secondary School Principals has placed this program on the NASSP National Advisory List of Contests and Activities for 2009-2010


1. You must be a high school senior in the 2009-2010 school year. (High school juniors of any age are NOT eligible) OR

2. If you are NOT enrolled in high school, you must be 17 or 18 years old on December 1, 2009. Proof of age will be required.

3. You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
    A copy of your permanent resident card is required.

Online registration is at $35 per discipline category, April 1 through October 1, 2009, 5:00 pm EST. The first 100 students to apply will receive a FREE DVD of the Oscar-nominated documentary, Rehearsing a Dream.

When registering online please use a valid credit card number.  All major credit cards are accepted except Discover.

Please note that your youngARTS registration fee is NOT refundable even if you are disqualified for failing to follow the specified requirements, become ill or injured, have a family emergency, and/or choose not to submit audition/portfolio materials.

Eligibility for a fee waiver will be decided according to the table below:

Please note that financial information will be kept confidential and will be used only for purposes related directly to the youngARTS program.


  Fee waivers are available for participants who cannot afford the registration fee, although they are limited to one discipline category per eligible individual.
  If you are registering in more than one discipline or category, you must pay the full fee for the remaining categories.  
  If you wish to request a fee waiver, please submit one of the following by fax or mail no later than October 1, 2009, 5:00 pm EST. This fee waiver is only available through October 1, 2009, 5:00 pm EST.

  1. A copy of your family's 2008 income tax return (1040 Form)
  2. Proof of hardship, such as a letter from your high school principal, administrator or counselor on school letterhead.
